Krka National Park, Croatia

The National Park "KRKA" is the youngest national park in Croatia. It was established in 1985 and consists of the upper and lower reaches of the Krka River, and the lower reaches of the Čikola River. The park is open year round, and you can reach its most spectacular parts by foot, vehicle and by boat.

The National Park "Krka" is situated in the southern part Croatia, at the center of the Adriatic coastline and is the thread connecting the inland part of the Sibenik-Knin County with the sea. Within the park, every effort is made to preserve the natural ecosystem, the wealth of flora and fauna and the ethnographically rich region of the land which the Krka flows through, such that even the last visitor will have the opportunity to view the ethnographic collection and to see the old fashioned machinery used to wash clothing and soften fabric, and the water mills used to mill wheat.

The National Park Krka has received a free tourist guide for mobile phones, which has enabled visitors to find out all the information about tourist offers and contents of the park. The guide can be used in English and Croatian and is functional as well as rich in content.

Thanks to the interactive map of the national park, visitors can find their desired point of interest by clicking once on ‘mobiEXPLORE NP Krka’ mobile guide. It is possible for visitors to find out all the information about the attractive flora and fauna in this area and the user can also obtain the information on restaurants and entertainment facilities by making a direct call.
